I found out about this derelict Church in East Sussex. Luckily I found an open door and what was inside was absolutely breathtaking.
It was the middle of the day when I first came here and I didn’t know if I was seen on-site, so I left the entrance as it was, and decided to return the following morning. I set the alarm for 5:30am the following morning and after a couple of cups of tea I headed out to the Church.
I arrived at approx 6:30am and the sun was just starting to poke its head up. A perfect time as most people would have been asleep and I was able to get better photo’s.
As I walked around the building I felt thoroughly creeped out as it was still very dark inside. At one point I left a door to close by itself and walked away, only for it to scare the crap out of me when it slammed shut!
As I entered the main Church I was absoultely amazed with what I saw. It was huge and the architecture was beautiful. I think I sat in there for about 20 minutes just looking around in awe.
There were some other pretty cool rooms in this place, including one huge hall, a basement and a living space. Not too much too look at there though so I didn’t get many photo’s of those.
After spending over an hour and a half at this Church in East Sussex I thought it was time to leave so I packed up my tripod and camera and left.
All in all, a very nice place and definitley one of the best locations I have been able to get inside of.
The Church closed to the public a couple of years ago due to high repair bill’s and not enough funding to carry out the work. It was built in the late 1800’s.
